How does the treatment work?
MonaLisa Touch treats vaginal atrophy by promoting the recovery of the genital mucosa in a safe, painless way. The effect on vaginal mucosa tissue stimulates the production of collagen, improves functionality of the treated area and restores proper blood flow reversing the effects of vaginal atrophy. Treatment is virtually painless and the procedure lasts less than five minutes.
What happens when I make an appointment?
After an initial consultation and referral by your GP for suspected vaginal atrophy, you will see a specialist who will confirm the diagnosis if it is present. They will arrange further tests to do this, including taking a urine sample. Our specialist will discuss the options available to you, such as lubricants and topical oestrogens, if not already tried or contraindicated.
If you are ready to go ahead with laser treatment, you will have a detailed discussion and be provided with further written information. Written consent is confirmed through a two stage process.
The laser treatments will be carried out by trained doctors. Up to three such sittings six weeks apart are recommended to complete the therapy and for you to experience the full benefits.
Treatment is based in an outpatient clinic, and anaesthesia is not required.

“It was my gynecologist who first talked to me about MonaLisa Touch. With this treatment I resolved the problems related to menopause that I suffered from, especially vaginal dryness. I had suffered from these problems for a few years and had tried everything: creams, treatments but with no result, sometimes the pain was so strong that it was even difficult to walk.”
